Classify These As Good Times
It's been brewing for a while, but we are excited to finally announce the signing of Trummors to EJRC. The Woodstock, NY duo of Anne Cunningham and David Lerner (formerly of Ted Leo r/x) put together one of the most wonderful smart and subtle folk records we have heard in quite some time, and we have it up to order right now on CDs and an extremely limited pressing (only 250!) of LPs in beautiful hand screened covers. Record is out on 5/22 but we will be shipping out orders as soon as we have these in hand.
We're also currently shipping a brand new 7" from Vancouver's The Albertans! Featuring a 6+ minute A-side that is one of the most jaw-dropping tracks the band has ever put together, this is a must have! It's sorta creepy, there's a prog rock breakdown, and when the whole thing ends you'll want to hear it all over again. We've only got 150 copies of this one over here so grab it while you can and let it tide you over before the band returns to the studio later this year for LP3...
We've ALSO got a preorder up for the upcoming Still Flyin' full-length (for those keeping track, this is their SEVENTH(!) EJRC release). This is a total "forget everything you ever knew about this band" release - synth-y pop with endless hooks on an album with one single after another. Tour dates coming soon as well.
And let's not forget about the newly released stuff around here:
"Whistle Tips" from Dinosaur Feathers - This one is out now on CD and LP, and following a successful run with bands including Built To Spill and Grandchildren, the band is getting set to head out on another huge tour, this time with Margot & The Nuclear So & Sos (check the shows section for details!). We really love this record. Pretty sure you will too!
"Kiss Full Of Teeth" from Gabriel & The Hounds - A slow burn of a solo record from Takka Takka frontman Gabe Levine, featuring pretty much every musician in Brooklyn. We have super limited amounts of import vinyl available on this one now too!
The rest of the wrap-up: Black Hollies in the studio, Takka Takka mixing, Drew Isleib mixing, all sorts of other crazy business up our sleeves including some stuff we haven't even wrapped our own heads around yet. Maybe it's going to be ok.
